Ohio Salvage and Rebuilt Salvage Titles
When a motor vehicle is involved in an accident the
State of Ohio may issue a Salvage Title. A vehicle with
a Salvage Title cannot be driven on any roadway nor can
it have a valid license plate placed upon it.
The
vehicle may, however, be able to be restored to safe and
roadworthy condition, then issued a Salvage Rebuilt
Title. A vehicle with a Salvage Rebuilt Title can be
licensed and driven like a normal vehicle.
Before
a Salvage Title can be transferred to a Salvage Rebuilt
Title the vehicle must pass an extensive inspection
conducted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The purpose
of the inspection is to prove ownership of all the parts
and review the required documentation.
